Why PET Imaging Matters in Your Care

When your doctor orders a PET scan, it’s natural to have questions. PET imaging plays an important role in helping your care team better understand what’s happening inside your body—so they can make informed decisions about your care.

What Is PET Imaging?

Positron Emission Tomography, or PET imaging, shows how tissues and organs are functioning, not just what they look like. This allows providers to identify areas of increased activity that may not be visible on other imaging studies.

How PET Imaging Helps Your Care Team

PET scans can help:

  • Detect disease earlier
  • Evaluate how well a treatment is working
  • Guide treatment planning
  • Monitor changes over time

By providing detailed, accurate information, PET imaging helps your care team choose the most appropriate next steps.

Why Accuracy Matters

Clear imaging supports confident clinical decisions. PET scans can help reduce uncertainty, avoid unnecessary procedures, and ensure treatment plans are tailored to your specific needs.

Supporting You Every Step of the Way

Beyond the technology, your comfort matters. PET imaging teams are focused on creating a supportive, respectful experience—from scheduling through your scan.

A Key Part of Your Care Journey

PET imaging is one piece of a larger care plan designed around you. By helping your providers see more clearly, PET imaging supports personalized, informed care and peace of mind.

If you have questions about your PET scan, your imaging team is here to help.
